Carven
While Carven has actually been around for over 70 years—it was first launched in '40s-era France as a couture house byMadame Carmen de Tommasobut—its latest chapter began in 2010 when designer Guillaume Henry gained creative control of the then-struggling company. Reinventing the brand’s signature attention to precise tailoring and girlish silhouettes with innovative, of-the-moment details, Henry made the label into one of the most revered names in fashion during his 5-year tenure at its helm. Today, artistic directors Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud have picked up right where Henry left off, sending several equally covetable (and quintessentially French) designs—tailored Carven coats, edgy-feminine dresses—down the runway.
